Bob Steele

Bob L. Steele, former Chief Administrator of Green Valley AEA, passed on Saturday, March 17th. Bob was proud to be a lifelong educator. He served as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and AEA chief administrator. He retired 16 years ago, and he and his wife, Judy, moved back to their hometown of Kirksville Missouri. Bob and Judy spent 13 years in his favorite place, their home in the woods outside of Kirksville. He loved his home projects, planting trees and flowers, and taking care of a wide assortment of animals (cats, dogs, raccoon, deer, and the chubbiest possum you have ever seen)! Bob and Judy moved back to Iowa 3 years ago due to health reasons. They lived with their daughter, Keri, until last year when their health needs increased.
Services will be on Friday, March 23rd at the Merle Hay Funeral Home at 4400 Merle Hay Road in Urbandale, Iowa. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00, and a celebration of life memorial service will be at 12:00. Guests are invited to stay after for a light lunch.
