You won't want to miss Man of La Mancha!

Each performance when the Omaha Community Playhouse cast sings The Impossible Dream, the closing number in Man of La Mancha, Lori Lynn Ahrends gets teary eyed.
Lori Lynn (early childhood consultant, Peterson) plays Maria and a prisoner (photo) in this five-time Tony Award winning tale of hope and inspiration.

Why the tears? "The message of the show is an emotional mixture of hope, redemption, and yet sadness, and the finale brings all those emotions together," says Lori Lynn. It was also her grandmother's favorite song.
Betsie Freeman of the Omaha World Herald describes the show as a "very musical musical — there’s lots of singing that advances the plot and background music when there are no voices. It’s almost like an opera. It takes the right kind of ensemble to meet its vocal demands. Director Hilary Adams has assembled a cast that not only meets the challenge, it conquers the music like Don Quixote slays his imaginary dragons."
The show opened on Sept. 18 and runs through Oct. 18. Lori Lynn says, "Don't miss it!" Visit the Omaha Community Playhouse website for ticket information.
